MonkeDo Extension — Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 4 August, 2026
MonkeDo is a Chrome Extension that mirrors what you do in one browser tab into a second tab you have paired with it, so the same web app can be driven in two places at once. MonkeDo does not collect your data. Nothing it reads ever leaves your browser.
1. What MonkeDo Accesses
While two tabs are paired, MonkeDo observes your own interactions in those tabs — pointer movement, hovers, clicks, keystrokes, text selection, scrolling, zoom and page navigation — and reproduces them in the other paired tab.
It also reads the current address of the two paired tabs, at the moment it is needed, so that navigating in one tab can be reproduced in the other using that tab's own origin.
MonkeDo does nothing at all in a tab until you have paired it, and mirroring can be paused at any time.
2. Data Collection and Use
(a) We do not collect or store any personal information.
(b) We do not operate any servers and MonkeDo contains no networking code. There is no request to any remote address, no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising and no accounts.
(c) Your interactions are passed from one of your tabs to the other through Chrome's own internal extension messaging, on your device, and are never written down.
3. What Is Never Mirrored
MonkeDo deliberately excludes sensitive inputs. The contents of password fields, one-time-code fields, card number and security code fields, and any field whose name, id or label indicates a password, passcode, OTP, CVC/CVV or secret are never sent to the other tab, and neither are the individual characters typed into them.
4. What Is Stored On Your Device
Two things, both about the extension rather than about you or the pages you visit:
(a) The ids of the two tabs you paired and whether mirroring is paused. This is kept in Chrome's session storage so a pairing survives the extension's background worker restarting, and it is discarded when you close the browser.
(b) Which screen corner you dragged the floating pause button to, so it stays where you put it.
No page content, form input or browsing history is stored.
5. Third-Party Services
None. MonkeDo does not use any third-party service, SDK or API, and loads no code from outside the extension package.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade or share any data with third parties. As no data is collected or transmitted, there is nothing to share.
7. Site Access and Your Control
MonkeDo asks for access to all sites because you choose which two tabs to pair at the moment you use it, and the extension cannot know in advance which sites those will be — a fixed list of hosts would make it unusable.
You stay in control: nothing is mirrored until you pair two tabs, mirroring can be paused from the floating control in the page, the toolbar popup or a keyboard shortcut, holding Option or Alt while clicking acts in one tab only, and removing the extension removes everything it stored.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of MonkeDo after changes means you accept the new policy.
